This is collection is intended for quilters who already have a pattern, or know what they want to make. It does not include a pattern or detailed sewing instructions.

Lucy Boston's spectacular patchwork was made with only one shape, but the use of fabric is very creative. If you wish to use the shapes to make the Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses, there is a detailed pattern with instructions for sewing by machine, by hand, or by English Paper Piecing, in the companion book, available here and in quilt shops.
Inklingo makes these hexagons more fun and more portable, but it is also possible to stitch by machine. In the past, English Paper Piecing was the favorite choice for a portable project, to avoid marking the seam lines, but Inklingo’s precise lines for stitching and cutting—perfectly printed by the hundreds—changed all that. Not only is POTC more portable with Inklingo, it is easier to hide the stitches and it is faster to prepare. Inklingo also provides each shape without seam allowances, so if you prefer English Paper Piecing for some reason, you can print the templates and cut the paper with a rotary cutter or scissors.
